Toughened Glass is 5 times stronger than normal glass. This is normal glass passed through a heat process, which tempers the glass making it toughened glass, however this does not mean unbreakable. Toughened glass will break under stress and disintegrate in to small granules with dulled edges thus reducing the risk of injury.

Where and why do I need toughened glass?

Toughened glass is needed where there is a risk of serious injury from falling into or breaking of glass. It is 5 times stronger than standard glass and when it breaks it shatters into tiny pieces, and is well worth considering if you have children.
